Roy Williams of Dallas Cowboys Fractures Forearm

16/09/08 6:46 AM

Roy Williams, a hard hitting Dallas Cowboys safety  fractured his forearm last Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was injured during a special teams tackle in Dallas’ 41-37 victory.

Roy Williams, known as one of the hardest hitting strong safeties in the NFL, was hurt when he and teammate Keith Davis combined to hit Eagles Quintin Demps during a kickoff return. He immediately went to the sidelines and just a few moments later was escorted to the locker room.

The five-time Pro Bowler is said to miss at least three weeks. More than likely it will be longer than that. Backup Patrick Watkins took Williams’ place and let’s say he made a few costly mistakes including a 15-yard face mask penalty.

With Roy Williams out for the next three weeks at the very least, Dallas cowboys that puts more pressure on the rest of the defensive backs.

In the same game, Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten was also forced to the locker room in the first half due to a separated shoulder. Though, Witten did manage to return to the game and he finished with seven total catches for 100 yards including a key catch that set up a Marion Barber 1-yard go-ahead touchdown run.
